Winter–A moment of reflection on the season. It is now that we remember our perseverance. For some, looking back on the winter was the time for good food and warmth. For us, it’s recalling the thought of being surrounded by the chill in the air and absorbing anything but the melancholy sounds on a winter’s night.
Winter was a purifying engine to us that ran rampant throughout the Field Maintenance Department. Once again it was a mad and beautifully terrifying thing. That was when those howling winds exposed snow flakes hitting your windshield that were at times as big as popcorn.
The nights of late October were growing very cold and the Autumn memories had now turned to snow.
For some, having old snow removal equipment may seem a long way off but on the day it doesn’t, it will be too late to do anything about it. Winter was not the time to get that subtle nudge to remind us to reflect on our responsibility to the traveling public.
In my opinion, the size of equipment is measured by the size of the thing that makes it angry.
A companies character is made by many acts and it may be lost by a single one. If you have to choose between certainty and hope, choose certainty every time.
