Does any body still use Urea for deicing their runways any more?

Good question Jack. Let’s quickly jump back to 2012. A ruling on the EPA NPDES permits states that existing and new primary airports with 1,000 or more annual jet departures (non-propeller) that generate wastewater associted with airfield pavement deicing are to use non-urea-containing deicers. The preferred standard is noe Potassium Acetate and Sodium Formate.
