ronnie – In Michigan, the Air Pollution Control Rules require that you keep the cover over the “parts wash sink” at all times when not being used. I heard that you actually have to have “stickers” placed in clear view of the washer that summarize the rules. Is MIOSHA strictly enforcing this or is it an E.P.A. thing?

It certainly should be done at any shop environment location. Fumes, flammability, sparks from welding all create an unsafe situation.

Both entities should be applicable to sustaining safety regulations. Identify each role they play at your airport and continue to train your personnel in both areas. There is a great deal of information out there that can assist you in remaining compliant. Use it.
