    The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) is seeking an experienced person in the development and coordination of comprehensive marketing and advertising initiatives to serve as the Manager of Marketing.

    There is one (1) promotional opportunity available. Only individuals who are currently employed with the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority are eligible for consideration.

    The Manager of Marketing reports to the Vice-President of Marketing & Public Affairs and plans, develops, organizes, and implements the RTAA’s marketing and advertising activities, which includes advertising, public relations, social media, media buying, and special events, to increase awareness of brand and image, non-stop and one-stop flights, airlines, business development opportunities, airport amenities, and general aviation facilities.

    This position represents the RTAA and requires the ability to exercise sound judgment, flexibility, creativity, and sensitivity in response to changing situations and needs; the ability to communicate effectively; and the ability to establish, maintain and foster effective working relationships.

    Examples of Duties:
    Organize, coordinate and administer a comprehensive marketing program for the RTAA that is consistent with strategic goals and available budget, which includes a social media strategy.
    Develop and administer advertising campaign budgets; and plan, implement, and manage advertising campaigns and media buys.
    Organize, plan, and coordinate special events for the airport, air service, economic development, and general aviation.
    Plan, develop, and manage the community partner sponsorship marketing program.
    Plan, develop and coordinate special marketing programs for other airport activities such as economic development, general aviation, and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
    Direct the graphic production of informative, promotional, marketing and advertising materials.
    Manage the creation, development, and maintenance of airport websites to leverage the technology for marketing purposes.
    Participate in the development of the divisional budget by developing and recommending projections of supporting expenditures; analyze activities on a monthly basis to determine how closely projected budget and work plan adhere to each other and to make adjustments as necessary.
    Screen, interview, and select new employees in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
    Supervise, plan, coordinate, and assign projects and areas of program respon­sibility and monitor progress.
    Plan, coordinate and provide training to staff to ensure that all staff members are informed and properly prepared to carry out assigned functions.
    Evaluate the performance of staff, providing regular feedback regarding quality and quantity of work performed; pro­vide employees with the guidance and direction needed to correct deficien­cies; and work with employees to help improve individual and operational productivity.
    Maintain a high knowledge level of various media platforms to promote the RTAA and its airports.
    Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, marketing firms, airlines, media, and all RTAA departments.
    Assist with the planning and coordination of communication efforts for community outreach and engagement strategies.
    Assist Air Service Development with the Regional Air Service Corporation (RASC) marketing activities.
    Assist Air Service Development in creating and developing advertising support for new and troubled routes to build support amongst regional stakeholders and to promote service to develop new customers.
    Coordinate with airlines and the Air Service Development team on marketing initiatives and plans.
    Oversee and manage the activities of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RTIA) Front Desk, including employee scheduling, training and guidance to provide outstanding customer service to high profile visitors, timely and appropriate responses to customer requests for information; administration of the RTIA lost and found, and other related duties.

    Salary : $75,600 – $114,535 annually. Initial salary placement will be based upon the provisions of the Management Guidelines. This is an at-will, salaried position.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in aviation management, marketing, public affairs, business administration, communications, or a closely related field.

    Experience: Five (5) years of experience in marketing, public affairs, air service development, or other specialized airport management work, which includes two (2) years of management and supervisory experience. OR Five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible, professional experience in the management of a program area within the RTAA and documented professional development in supervisory and/or leadership skills.

    Licensing: A valid driver’s license is required at the time of application.

    Selection Procedure :
