Bringing in the New Year with Assistant Field Maintenance Supervisor Jeff Phillips. Oh–he’ll tell you he owned and operated the 1st Snow Wolf in the United States!!!
Current FM Supervisor, Keith Brock (far left), Jeff Phillips (FM Assistant), and Rory Wolters (FM Assistant)…. Oh–he’ll tell you he owned & operated the 2nd Snow Wolf in the United States…
I returned to the FM Department today in Grand Rapids to congratulate my old assistant and current FM Supervisor, Keith Brock on his December 31st retirement date. I handed Keith the FM watch about a year and a half ago when I retired and he impressed with the continued aggressive approach toward equipment acquisition proficiency among other noteworthy accomplishments. Simply stated, he did an outstanding job and I am very proud of him. I know he will be missed and difficult to replace but the airport is in solid shape with their current assistants.
Some airport people entertain ideas; others put them to work.

Snow equipment acquisition mistakes are the great educator when one is honest enough to admit to them and willing to learn from them.
Others in the airport world will follow your footsteps easier than they will your advice. The airport that really wants to do something finds a way, not an excuse.

Your snow removal failures won’t hurt you until you start blaming them on others so when looking at purchasing snow removal equipment, a delay is better than a disaster.

If you have a choice between certainty and hope, choose certainty every time. Remember….Ideas won’t work unless you do.
Enthusiasm for certain types of equipment is contagious. You can start an epidemic.
The customer is our reason for being here because the customer is the final inspector.
My advice to those truly looking for accolades and answers is don’t go to sleep and dream of worthy accomplishments, stay awake and do them. The answers are right there in front of you.
Oh and ya…. From top to bottom, they are the real deal making for an incredible fleet of snow removal equipment.
